Located east of Bordeaux, on a hillside facing Villefranche de Lonchapt, only 20 minutes from St.Emilion. A peaceful retreat surrounded by 9 acres of gardens, meadows, forests and vineyards. The garden has numerous fruit and nut trees, and it is compulsory to eat your share of them! B&B guests have the homemade jam served at breakfast. There is a large swimming pool for use by B&B and La Vigne guests(16x14m), with a safe shallow end for children and non-swimmers. There is a Hot Tub Jacuzzi as well, but not for the kids!

This holiday cottage (100sqm) can sleep 8 people in 4 separate bedrooms, 2 doubles downstairs, one double and 1 twin upstairs with a mezzanine bed/sofa area with a TV for PS2/DVD console. The shower-room and separate toilet are downstairs. One double room has an en-suite shower and is suitable for wheelchair users, a wheel in shower chair can be provided. The lounge/diner and kitchen can also be accessed. There is a fully equipped kitchen area also containing a dishwasher and a washing machine. The combined living/dining area has a CD/iPod/MP3 player and Digital TV(French freeview only) video, DVD, CD's and videos/DVDs can be borrowed from us. There is an iron and hairdryer. There is plenty of comfortable furniture.We also provide WiFi internet access free and a laptop if you need one. If you have small children travelling with you, we provide a cot, highchair and baby bath. There are also games for children, a tree house, swings, table tennis and table football. La Vigne has its own terrace and BBQ area facing the vines in the garden only a short distance from the Hot Tub (adults only) and alarmed swimming pool 16 x 14 metres which guests staying here share with any B&B guests in La Source (max of 4 in B&B) Generally the pool is only used by La Vigne guests. Prices are inclusive for all linen and towels, including pool towels, electricity and gas costs. Taxi and child minding services are available - you might need a break too! An additional option is 4 course evening meals being delivered to your gite, we even take the washing up away! Discounts are available for under occupancy

If you get bored of relaxing in the peaceful surroundings at Maison Arc-en-ciel and want to do more than just swim or sit by the pool and look at beautiful countryside then... St Michel de Montaigne is only 2kms Hire a bicycle from us and explore the quiet lanes that wind their way through the vineyards and forests of this area. You do not have to be 'Tour de France' fit! It is cycling for softies mostly! Or you could just walk the lanes and forests, Visit St Michel de Montaigne' home, or go wine tasting. If you do not have your own car here talk to us about hiring one, get out and about to visit many of the local Bastille towns in the location. The beautiful medieval towns of St Emilion and St Foy le Grand are only 20 minutes away, both have excellent restaurants and bars. At St Foy we can personally recommend La Vieille Auberge for top quality French food from the region at local prices. For visiting Bordeaux itself we recommend taking the train from our local stations, we can provide you with timetables. Bordeaux has beautiful boulevards and excellent shopping. There are too many Chateaux and vineyards in the area to name them all, but most are open to the public for wine tasting and purchase, information is available please ask us. We have our own favourite local vineyard, where you can visit the operation and taste the award winning wine. WHAT CAN THE KIDS DO! Well............if they are not kept busy swimming in the pools, canoeing on the Dordogne, or cycling then take a look at these options. Swinging from ropes in the trees.A visit to Tepacap just 30 minutes from us should be enough fun and excerise for anyone over the age of 4 years. Not enough....try... Plenty of rides for all the family. Great waterpark just outside Bordeaux. There is always the re-enactment of the last battle of the 100 years war with the English! A great spectacle for all the family, involving over 500 actors with a huge firework display as the finale, by the same people who supply Disneyland Paris. If that doesn't satisfy them....we have 9 acres you can bury them in!
