This attractive little gîte has greeted many guests from all over the world who have come to enjoy the special charm and tranquility of the lovely Vendée. Set on the edge of a small rural hamlet it is, nevertheless, close to many activities, places of interest and its just an hour and a quarter to the wonderful west coast beaches.

The gîte has open beams throughout and, on the ground floor, a lounge-dining room with comfy seating for 4/5, dining table & chairs for 5, CD/radio/cassette player, a small collection of books and games and a wood-burning stove. The bathroom has a small sabot style bath with shower, a separate toilet with hand basin and a kitchen with gas cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee maker toaster and plenty of crockery, cutlery and cookware (use of washing machine). The kitchen opens directly onto the large level garden with table, chairs, sun-loungers, barbecue and childrens garden toys are available on request. The second floor has one double-bedded room with far reaching views and a twin-bedded room (low-head height) with third bed available. A velux window has views over the garden. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space in each room.

Places of Interest

The gîte is ideally situated, being central to La Rochelle and Poitiers, Puy du Fou and the Venise Verte meaning that a vaste area of history, attractions and coast are all within reach. Places of interest nearby include the pictoresque medieval village of Vouvant, the forest of Mervent (with lake swimming, boating, zoo, activity parks etc), the old Donjon at Bazoges en Pareds, local wine producer (with tasting), weekly markets. Activites include horse-riding, walking, swimming, go-karting, tree top adventure course and even microlite initiation flights.
